Create Events and Recurring Schedules

The Events module helps your church publish activities, services, meetings, and recurring schedules in one organized calendar.

1. Open the Events module

  1. Sign in to BlessChurch.
  2. Select Events from the application menu.
  3. Select Add Event.

2. Enter the event information

Add the information visitors and church members need:

  • Event title
  • Date
  • Start and end time
  • Location
  • Description
  • Event image
  • Registration or information URL, when applicable

3. Create a one-time event

For an event that occurs only once, select its date, confirm that recurrence is disabled, and save it.

Examples include conferences, special services, retreats, and community activities.

4. Create a recurring event

Use recurrence for services or activities that follow a regular schedule.

  1. Choose the event’s first date.
  2. Enable recurrence.
  3. Select the available recurrence frequency.
  4. Add an ending date when the schedule should not continue indefinitely.
  5. Save the event.

5. Modify one occurrence

If one date in a recurring schedule changes, edit that occurrence instead of changing the entire series.

You can use an exception to update its time, title, or location, or to cancel only that date.

6. Add an event image

Use a clear, high-quality image with enough contrast. Avoid placing essential text near the edges because images may be cropped differently on desktop and mobile screens.

7. Confirm the public website

Published upcoming events can appear automatically on your church website when the Events section and Events page are enabled.

After saving an event, verify:

  • The correct date and time
  • The correct church timezone
  • The event location
  • The public image
  • The registration or information link

8. Use the Calendar

The Calendar provides a visual overview of scheduled events. Use it to identify conflicting times, review recurring schedules, and plan upcoming activities.

Troubleshooting

If an event does not appear publicly, confirm that it is scheduled for a future date, has the correct status, falls within the website’s upcoming-event range, and that the Events page is enabled.

Helpful tip

Create recurring events for regular services instead of entering every occurrence manually. Use exceptions whenever a single date changes.
